BRS strives to responsibly manage the Environmental, Social and Ethical (ESE) issues of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries
BRS recognises that the chemical and pharmaceutical industries represent significant sustainability risks. We therefore strive to responsibly manage the Environmental, Social and Ethical (ESE) issues of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
BRS’s Exclusion List includes activities that violate the Basel Convention, the production of or trade in asbestos fibres and the production of or trade in pharmaceuticals, pesticide/herbicides, chemicals and ozone depleting substances subject to international phase outs or bans.
In addition to the Exclusion List, for transactions concerning chemicals the bank always verifies whether there are hazardous chemicals involved which are banned under international conventions. In both sectors, the bank’s sustainability risk assessment also takes into consideration the end use and countries involved.
More information on our Chemicals and Pharma Policy will be published soon.
