BRS closely manages the Environmental, Social and Ethical (ESE) issues associated with the metals and mining sector through thorough risk management procedures in our due diligence processes
BRS closely manages the Environmental, Social and Ethical (ESE) impacts associated with the metals and mining sector through thorough risk management procedures in our appraisal and decision-making processes.
The Metals and Mining Policy applies to all our clients active in the metals & mining sector. For client engagements, we apply a client assessment tool, which rates the extent to which clients have processes and policies to address the ESE impacts of their business.
For project finance, we apply the Equator Principles to ensure that projects we finance are developed in a socially responsible manner and reflect sound environmental management practices. For single asset investments, we use a filter to assess whether there are any sensitive impacts associated with the transaction. We apply more comprehensive due diligence procedures for projects that pose greater risk of significant adverse environmental or social impacts.
